TAFU’s Interactive and Practical Mentorship Programme
TAFU’s Interactive and Practical Mentorship Programme was created to give the Year 9 winners of the TAFU – BCS Award more than just a moment of recognition. It offered them the chance to take their ideas further and build new ideas, in interactive sessions centred around impact and real-world applicability. Over the course of the programme, the students were supported in developing tangible solutions while also gaining confidence, building new skills and enhancing existing ones. Further, participants learnt about various sustainability, innovation, and business topics, creating an effortless and wholistic pathway to entrepreneurship and/or effectively implementing sustainability within their future careers.
Everyone rose to the challenge with remarkable energy and imagination. By the end of just the first week, they had already produced the reports you see below, tackling sustainability problems with insight, creativity, and depth well beyond their years. As the programme continued, they pushed their thinking even further; shaping fully developed start-up ideas that each of them wished to pursue. Their progress was inspiring, and the work they have created says it all!
We hope this experience was as enjoyable as it was meaningful, and that it offered plenty of learning along the way. We believe that every young person who puts their mind to it, and is given the right support, can achieve great things. This mentorship has shown just how true that is and just how hardworking these youngsters are! Please do read their wonderful reports below and learn more about the pressing issues we face:
