First Event!

Individual responsibility towards our planet, nature and climate change

Teens & Friends United for a better tomorrow and fun today!

I believe we can make a great impact on the world’s current situation if each and every one of us takes responsibility for our personal attitude towards nature and our own immediate surroundings. Industries and governments will follow, as we will not leave them a choice, we can’t change others, but we can make a great impact if we change ourselves and try to influence everyone around us and everyone we know. When we stop using the majority of plastics; we will be environmentally friendly; we will reduce; we will reuse, and we will recycle. Industries and governments rely on customers and the public, us, if we, as the public and the customers, turn our back to plastics and fossil fuels and start looking towards solar energy and other renewable energy sources, they won’t have a choice, as it will be in their best interest, for both the environment and their businesses, to become environmentally friendly, to gain their customers back as no one will be buying products that are damaging to nature.

Changes are happening even now, businesses are participating. Amazon, for example, was the largest public retailer in the U.S. in 2020, they have bought 100,000 new electric vans. When making eclectic vehicles, the battery produces 10 years worth of greenhouse gases that would be released from driving, however, driving itself release hardly any greenhouse gases, and therefore, if properly maintained, eclectic vehicles could be the best solution, so far, to fossil fuel-powered vehicles.

I don’t believe that protests help raise awareness at all as they are being ignored. Rather than going protesting, let’s go clean forests, parks, beaches…. Protests are calling for someone else to take responsibility, someone higher, someone with more influence, but the responsibility lies on every single one of us and every single one of us can make a change to our communities.

I am Nika, I am 13 years old, I am doing my GCSEs & A Levels early. So that, I can go to university early, so I can apply myself as soon as possible.

(I am ready to do my exams as soon as the government opens exams. I would be doing 12 GCSEs and 3 A-levels. I was meant to pass these in spring; however, most exams were cancelled for all that couldn’t get a teacher assessed grade. Therefore, now I am planning on doing these, hopefully, in the autumn. I am also doing 4 Trinity exams & RAD grade 8)

Once I finish university, my plan is to make concerts around the world, raising global awareness and call my generation and everyone to change their own habits, take responsibility and stop scrolling on social media, playing online games but rather to go in nature and find satisfaction there, make it fun, make it seen and to call on their friends! I also hope to start many events, for practical changes to the environment. To prompt working events about the environment and climate change. Not only is changing our ways better for the environment, but it is also better for us now and here and not to mention for our children and children of our children! If you live in a city or in the countryside, there is always a green space somewhere, and if there isn’t one close to you, you can try to start one, perhaps in an old building site. Getting fresh air, alone, helps the transfer of gases in your lungs, 20 minutes a day is enough! Almost all the vegetables we eat are sprayed with pesticides, which kills insects, if it can kill insects, it can damage us too! There are many other ways in which helping the environment helps us intern.

I will start now by engaging some of my friends to go beach cleaning with me, each in a different country. From these plastics and other rubbish/waste that we will collect we will make art! We will be able to sell these on my website (everyone who trying to make a change is going to be welcome to sell those products on here too) or, the option which I prefer for the moment, keep it at home and decorate our houses!

I will ask my friends to engage their friends and if I invite 10 friends and each of those 10 invites 10 more, and so on, we can get more and more people involved. Clean your green spaces, and send your pictures to the email in contact and we will see what we can do in a week! Don’t forget to tell your friends and ask them to tell their friends!

And, please, please; We need to protect our pollinators, they fuel our system. Pollinators make it possible for plants to reproduce, therefore providing food for herbivores, providing food for carnivores. Therefore, please ask your parents not to cut the lawns down, let the plants in your garden grow until they flower. Bees, bumblebees and butterflies will move into your garden.

Sir David Attenborough’s birthday is coming soon, on the 8th of May, our generation can give  Sir David the best present and show that all his work is paying off and that he did make an enormous impact on us and that we have changed and we will make the new world better, STEP by  STEP!
