Emily Dawes
Geoscience Outreach Coordinator
My name is Emily Dawes. I am 17 years old and currently studying A Levels in Geography, Psychology, and Sociology. From as early as I can remember, I have felt a deep connection to nature and animals. Some of my happiest childhood memories are rooted in simple moments outdoors, breathing in the fresh air, exploring green spaces, and sharing quiet time with wildlife around me. Animals have always been part of my world. Growing up around them shaped not only my compassion but also my respect for the natural world.
My interest in sustainability and responsible living is not just academic, it is something I try to practise daily. I have gained hands-on experience through volunteering at a local stables, where I cared for horses and helped with the day-to-day running of the yard. That experience taught me more than just animal care; it helped me develop a strong sense of responsibility, empathy, and awareness of how deeply interconnected we are with other living beings.
Being part of TAFU inspires me to turn my love for animals and nature into positive action. I am passionate about encouraging others to reconnect with the natural world, live more consciously, and understand the vital role personal responsibility plays in creating a sustainable future for all.
