Design and Visual Communications Intern

TAFU is seeking a Design and Visual Communication Intern for a transformative unpaid role within our nature conservation organisation. The ideal candidate will bring fresh, innovative ideas to our design projects, including creating impactful visual content for our campaigns and merchandise such as T-shirts and trainers. You will have the opportunity to analyse the effectiveness of our design strategies, adapt to our unique style, and directly contribute to enhancing our brand’s appeal. Your creative input and design expertise will not only elevate our marketing efforts but also play a crucial role in advancing our mission. This internship offers a unique blend of creative design work, marketing insight, and the chance to significantly contribute to nature conservation initiatives.

You will be supported at every stage of your internship and will receive constructive feedback on all your work, which you are expected to feedforward into your work.


• Conceptualise and implement innovative design solutions for merchandise such as T-shirts, trainers and other products that will help fund conservation projects

• Analyse and adapt design strategies based on engagement and feedback to enhance performance

• Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure cohesive visual communication across all platforms

• Engage in the creative process from concept to completion, ensuring designs align with TAFU’s goals and aesthetic

• Participate in generating and fostering new ideas and concepts for campaigns and projects

• Assist in the development and maintenance of TAFU’s brand identity, ensuring consistency

• Strong interest in conservation and sustainability

• Strong knowledge of design tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

• Other languages are a bonus

• Willingness to learn

• Flexibility to adapt to a changing environment and project needs

• A can-do attitude

• Willingness to adapt to feedback and revise designs accordingly to fit TAFU’s style and goals

• Creative thinking and ability to produce engaging designs and content

• Basic knowledge of digital marketing and analytics tools

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

• Availability for a minimum of 10 hours per week
