Helen Vien is currently a Year 8 student from the Henrietta Barnett School. She has distinguished herself through a series of national and international achievements in computing, mathematics and engineering. She earned multiple awards in the UK Bebras Coding Challenge<\/em>, including Best in School and Gold at both Junior and Intermediate levels, followed by Distinction and Gold at Pathfinder level. Her coding accomplishments also include Distinction in the Perse<\/em> Coding Team Challenge<\/em> and Merit in the Oxford University Computing Challenge<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In mathematics, she achieved Gold in both the Junior and Intermediate Mathematical<\/em> Challenges<\/em> from the UK Maths Trust<\/em>, along with Silver in the Grey Kangaroo Challenge<\/em> where she was recognised as \u201cBest in Year\u201d. Her success continued with Merit awards in the JuniorMathematical Olympiad<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has also excelled in engineering and robotics, completing the Smallpeice Trust Engineering<\/em> Experience<\/em> workshops, winning the Build Award at the VEX Robotics World Championship<\/em> in Dallas and securing 1st Place in the TAFU-BCS Award<\/em> at IBM London, supported by the British Computing Society.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Alongside these, she and her team received Special Commendation for Top 3 School Ranking with 10,000+ Points in the 2024 NCSC CyberFirst Girls Competition and took part in the Stemettes Ambitions Season Hack<\/em>, further demonstrating her ability to innovate and collaborate at the highest levels.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
