<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\nA former tech professional and educator with 15 years experience in teaching computer science and STEM, who has worked with several organisations such as British Computing Society (BCS), Computing at School (CAS), National Centre of Computing Education (NCCE), STEM Learning UK, Raspberry Pi Foundation, Teach First, Kingston university to name a few.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
Currently, I am recently elected British computing society council and professional member. I am also a mentor on the “my digital future” programme supporting young people (aged 16 to 25) from disadvantaged and underrepresented backgrounds who are looking to get into the tech industry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Within wider education, I have been part of the foundation for education development (FED) practitioners\u2019 council with the aim of driving social change within the education sector to improve the life chances of many young people. I hold fellowship membership with both the Chartered College of Teaching (FCCT) and the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA) due to my work in education. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In April 2021, I was part of the Raspberry Pi Foundation working group panel consisting of educators, university lecturers and specialists from the UK and the US responsible for developing and producing a document called \u201cDelivering a culturally relevant computing curriculum: a new guide for teachers\u201d – a set of guidelines for teachers to improve and cater their Computer Science curriculum to all learners used by all teachers across the UK. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2022 – I was named as one of several educators in an educational resource called \u201cCelebrating Black Computing\u201d by educator Elizabeth Sparrow aimed to showcase black excellence in computer science to primary and secondary school students during black history month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last year – I have gone to successfully co\u2013write a blog and produced resources to promote the \u201cUnsung Heroines of Tech\u201d, which was a major success during on International Women\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Recently – I have been selected by Kingston University to appear at the university’s black history month exhibition for alumni students taking place this October.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
